Trump Is Considering This High-Tech Exec for Cabinet Post

President-elect Donald Trump’s team is meeting with Oracle co-chief executive Safra Catz Thursday to talk about a possible cabinet post, according to Bloomberg News.

Details were in short supply, but treasury secretary might make sense given Catz has extensive experience in finance. She was an investment banker at Donaldson Lufkin & Jenrette (DLJ) before joining Oracle orcl in 1999. She served as the software giant’s chief financial officer for several years, during which time Oracle orcl made a name for itself for launching and closing massive acquisitions with great efficiency.

Catz was named co-chief executive (along with Mark Hurd) of Oracle in 2014 when company co-founder Larry Ellison stepped back from the CEO role. Ellison remains executive chairman and chief technology officer for the company, and Catz is one of his longest-serving lieutenants. She is known by some as Ellison’s “enforcer.

Bloomberg reported other would-be cabinet members meeting with Trump include South Carolina governor Nikki Haley; Texas Congressman Jeb Hensarling; FedEx fdx chief executive Fred Smith; former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger; and Florida Governor Rick Scott.

An Oracle spokeswoman confirmed the meeting without additional comment. The Trump campaign did not respond to request for comment.

Oracle execs have contributed to Democratic and Republican candidates in the past. Catz, Hurd, and Ellison this year contributed to the campaign of Senator Marco Rubio, who faced Trump in the Republican presidental primaries.
